ACCURATE size comparison
I almost didn't get this because I was looking for Disney Petite dolls. Fortunately, she IS a Disney Petite doll. Another reviewer included a misleading photo using perspective to make the doll look a lot larger than it is. The reviewer placed a Chelsea doll a couple inches behind Dahlia to make Dahlia look huge, and the reviewer wrote that Dahlia is bigger than Disney Petite dolls. That is not true. This Dahlia doll IS a Disney Petite doll. I'm including photos with my review that show an ACCURATE size comparison. Yes, Dahlia is the same size as Chelsea. Yes, Dahlia is slightly larger with different proportions, but she is the same DOLL SCALE SIZE as Chelsea. They are both 1/12 scale. When you shop for clothes for Chelsea and Dahlia, both dolls shop in the 1/12 doll clothes size. I have reviewed a lot of doll clothes on Amazon; if you look at my photos in the doll clothes reviews, you see that the 1/12 doll clothes fit both Chelsea and Disney Petites, among other dolls. They wear the same size doll clothes. The clothes fit a little bigger on Chelsea and a little tighter on Dahlia, but they are both 1/12 size. As you can see in my photos, Dahlia is the same size as other dolls in the Disney Petite series. I have a new set of Chelsea Care Bear dolls, so I grabbed one of those for comparison. Dahlia fits easily into Chelsea's skirt. The skirt has a more fitted look on Dahlia than on Chelsea, but the skirt slipped onto Dahlia very easily. It fits. Chelsea's Grumpy sweater also fits Dahlia. The sweater is a little baggy on Dahlia, and the sleeves are a little short, but it looks great on her! Also, I happen to have the same Chelsea doll that the other reviewer used in their misleading photo. I photographed them side by side to show that the size is much closer than the other reviewer's inaccurate photo portrays. Compared to the other Disney Petite dolls, Dahlia's tummy sticks out a slight bit more, and she has rubbery arms. The arms make it easier to put on clothes, in general, because they're flexible and can reach the sleeves better than the old Disney Petite dolls. However, Dahlia's dress has long, tight sleeves, and they do get a little stuck when trying to fit her rubber hands through the sleeves. The only problem with Dahlia is that her hair has a lot of glue dandruff. I've combed out most of it, but I left some in to show other shoppers what it looks like. The hair glue is a bit of an annoyance, but it can be removed.
